Aaaand the fallout. This chapter was much calmer than I thought it would be. Orochimaru is right, he would've gotten a way worse mission if the Hokage had been truly vindictive.
I'm so glad he gave Naruto the pieces to the puzzle, because finding out from someone wwho hates you, without have the chance to think about what it means to hold a monster inside, is pretty awful. Orochimaru's short break with sanity has given him more understanding into how much the human mind can take.
At least Anko is still going to be there with Naruto during the next few months when the Hokage and probably Kakashi tries to wean him away from Orochimaru (although with the entire property being a safe zone, we'll see how effective they really are).
After all Naruto is one of Orochimaru's now!!! Finally he's admitted it to himself. Also the line "Orochimaru thinks of foolish children with too much faith and too little common sense." was so lovely. Familyyyy.
