I believe, Peter was right about Derek's reasons to react the way he reacted. And Cora was just irritated by her inability to detect something, but Stiles hardly misread the reaction of the rest of the pack.
Lydia and Allison have spent their lives, so to speak, on the top of the food chain, they *know* they are awesome and they are self assured enough not to feel threatened by Stiles' achievements.
But other wolves...Before the bite, they had been nothing but outcasts, losers with a lot of issues and an inferiority complex, after - have become "the higher beings", so much more than mere humans. The Princes of the Universe, at least. :) I suppose, it had been an amazing feeling.
And now Stiles gained an upper hand again by finding a way around their supernatural abilities and taking that wonderful feeling - to be better than a puny, fragile human (and doesn't matter, that he's more clever than they all put together) - away.
They are resenting him for that, and I highly doubt they are going to be happy about his next achievements, if said achievements would make him more powerful.
More precisely, when Stiles is more powerful than their enemies - it's alright, but when he's better, than pack wolves - it's a big no-no, plain wrong and the reason to be upset .
